Although you are one Self, you experience yourself as two; as both good and evil, loving and hating mind and body.

This sense of being split into opposites induces feelings of acute and constant conflict, and leads to frantic attempts to reconcile the contradictory aspects of this self-perception.       ACIM W-96.p.1.1:1-2

Attempting to make sense of anything in this reality brings only endless despair.

 There is no balance; the bad within the ego self can never be in harmony with the good within the Self.

Time wasted in efforts to solve problems in an imagined reality is utterly meaningless.

You are, collectively, either the Holy Son of God, or you are a body; each contradicts the existence of the other; choose one.

“You are the spirit in whose mind abides the miracle in which all time stands still; the miracle in which a minute spent in using these ideas becomes a time that has no limit and has no end.” (4:1)

As a spirit, you are aware that a body is a part of the nothingness of a dream; contradictions within a dream can never be resolved.  

If you believe you are a body birthed out of pain, guilt, and separation, harmonization with perfect love is impossible.

Spirit provides power to the mind to express Itself; when the mind thinks itself is a body, it separates from spirit, finding itself absent of function, thoughts void of peace and happiness.

Without spirit, the Source of strength enabling the mind to think is not available, leaving it incomplete and vulnerable.

It retreats into a feeble body, struggling to make sense of an insane world. 

“The self you made can never be your Self, nor can your Self be split in two, and still be what It is and must forever be.” (3:3)

Divine truth is retained by the Holy Spirit within the mind, a pathway to salvation and peace, the bridge between the one Self and the self. 

Wait patiently and listen; allow the Holy Spirit to remind you of the Self, and the power of a restored mind, freeing it to serve Its Will.

“Fear not, for I am with you, be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my victorious right hand.”(Isaiah 41:10 (RSV)

Fellow Travelers: Remind yourself often:

“Salvation comes from my one Self.

Its thoughts are mine to use.” (9:2-3)

You see yourself as a ridiculous parody on God’s creation; weak, vicious, ugly and sinful, miserable and beset with pain. ACIM W-95.p1.2:1

“I am one Self, united with my Creator.

(L-95)

The true entity of the Son of God is a united one within the self, and one with the Creator, united eternally in creation. There are no multiplicities, no “others”, no separation nor death.

Acceptance of this truth is extremely difficult for a confused mind believing it has the power to change itself. It is not possible for the Son of God to change.

In an attempt to justify its thoughts the mind separates itself from its Creator, forsaking its divinity, alienates parts of itself and is in constant readiness for battle, obliviously stumbling through a self-made reality filled with guilt, hate, fear and misery.

The human race has blamed God for many disasters, wars, and life’s many problems, relentlessly fearing punishment, burning in eternal hell.

It prays to an unpredictable and indifferent god hoping for a life-line. Its ignorance of the Son of God’s true reality causes it to be unresponsive, deaf, and blind.

This is NOT my God!  My God knows this reality is merely a dream and is patiently waiting for us to wake-up!

“You are one Self with me, united with my creator in this Self. I honor you because of What I am, and What He is, Who loves us both as One.” (15:3-4)

Within the one Self, all others in our world are unified with us and with the Will of God.

“Feel this one Self in you, and let It shine away all your illusions and your doubts.

This is your Self, the Son of God Himself, sinless as Its Creator, with His strength within you and  His Love forever yours.” (13:2)

“Then close your eyes and tell yourself again, slowly and thoughtfully attempting to allow the meaning of the words sink into your mind, replacing false ideas:

“I am one Self.” (11-2-4)

Today we continue with the one idea which brings complete salvation, the one statement which makes all forms of temptation powerless; the one thought which renders the ego silent and entirely undone.

ACIM.W.94.p.1:1-2

Imagine awakening from this nightmare and recalling the world experienced.

The bewildering frantic sights that seemed so real disappeared, noise is silenced and all negative self-condemning thoughts, like scribbled madness on a blackboard, are whipped clean - gone forever.

“I am as God created me.” (L-94)

“Here is salvation accomplished. Here is sanity restored.” 

(1:4-5)

Take a giant step out of asphyxiating darkness where weakness, fear, guilt, and death overwhelm a disheartened mind and soul.

Go past conditioned beliefs and assigned attributes; release them to the ether; gracefully ask for God’s promise of truth, then wait patiently.

Assume that you are as God created.

Recognize the self as the One Son of God, surrounded by a brilliant divine light; embrace intrinsic power, purity, and eternal life.

“This is the Self that never left Its home in God” to walk the world uncertainly.

This is the Self that knows no fear, nor could conceive of loss or suffering or death.”  (5:7-8)

“When the Son of man (collectively all of us - as One) shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory.”  (Matthew 25:31 (KJV)

Throughout the day frequently remind the Self:

“I am as God created me.

 I am His Son eternally.” (3:3-4)
